We treated a patient with knee osteoarthritis using two biologic procedures, BMAC and PRP injections, in a single image-guided session.

We performed two biologic joint preservation procedures, a bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) injection and a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, for a patient from Macedonia now living in Switzerland. These are among our early uses of these techniques for managing osteoarthritis.

The patient had persistent knee pain from moderate osteoarthritis, despite conventional treatment elsewhere. After imaging and clinical assessment at our orthopaedic institute, we chose a dual approach: PRP to reduce inflammation, and BMAC to introduce mesenchymal stem cells to support cartilage health and joint repair.

Both procedures were done in a single session under image guidance. After treatment the patient reported improvement in symptoms and mobility.
